We’re partnered with one of the largest and most well respected London Market Syndicates, recruiting for a Solution Architect. As Solution Architect, you will be responsible for the design and governance of solution delivery for Insurance (London Market) and Reinsurance business functions. You will provide technical and architecture leadership and full range of advisory and delivery services across multiple projects.

***Please note: You need London Market Insurance experience in order to be eligible for this role***

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with stakeholders including software engineering teams, operations, product teams and business stakeholders to define a technical strategy
• Collaborate on architecture and design in the Cloud, SaaS and Desktop space
• Clear understanding of Lloyds Insurance System, London Market knowledge, Re-insurance, Policy Underwriting and Claims Process
• EBOT, ECOT, ECF, TRAX, Xchanging systems knowledge
• Review existing applications and ensure coherent and secure interoperability
• Recommend and present suitable, high-performance solutions targeting Azure
• Define and document system architectures
• Conduct PoC’s using the latest technologies and present the findings to technical and non-technical audiences
• Liaise with development teams to ensure the smooth delivery of solutions
• Ensure security and data integrity is integrated into all cloud architecture solutions

Role Requirements:

• Expertise in application and solution design using Azure cloud and Microsoft technologies
• Sound experience as a software engineer, using .NET C#
• Experience developing high-performance, scalable, data-driven, and extensible solutions
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code
• Experience with Security best practices
• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform
• Ability to evolve existing solutions towards next-generation technologies and architectures
• Overseeing technical implementations undertaken by multiple scrum teams, still hands-on and close to the code as required
• Ability to carry out quick POCs on the latest technology and to present the findings to different audiences
• Good understanding of strategic IT planning and Enterprise Architecture methodologies/frameworks is desired. Preferably Microsoft Azure Certified
• Overall 15+ years of IT experience of which 10+ years of experience ideally in Solution Architecture or Systems/Technical architecture roles
• Experience with IAM, Authentication / Authorisation
• Degree-educated in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent industry experience
• Insurance and/or financial services sector experience is desirable
