A Top InsurTech provider to the London Insurance market are looking for a Technical Architect to play a key role in solution design and development for customer programmes within Implementation Services, ensuring that the business solution delivered to the customer is innovative and of the highest quality.

This is an ideal role for someone with a strong B2B background looking to grow their career with an innovative and pioneering InsurTech provider and is a great opportunity to jump into the competitive Lloyd’s of London insurance sector.

Key Accountabilities

  • Owns the technical solution delivered to customers, underpinned by software, digital and IoT products, but including infrastructure, interfaces, third party solutions and data migration
  • Ensures that solutions meets customer requirements for performance, scalability, security, and integration
  • Produce high quality solution architecture and design documentation
  • Review and challenge technical development team for innovative solutions to issues
  • Management of the solution design and technical delivery team for customer programmes
  • Liaison with Business Lead to ensure technical solution aligned to business need
  • Influence & challenge customer requirements to provide a technical delivery roadmap
  • Ensure that a good relationship is nurtured with the customer and that products and services are supplied profitably and revenue opportunities are maximised
  • Liaison with Product Development team to ensure customer solutions maximise potential of product architecture and that future customer requirements feed into product road-map
  • Ensuring contractual obligations and responsibilities

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to write high quality architecture documentation requiring little or no amendment
  • Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff and senior management (including board), and chair customer and in-house meetings/workshops
  • Ability to build and develop robust working relationships
  • Ability to challenge conventional practices
  • Strategic thinker considers the long term value whilst meeting short term needs
  • Experience of managing and developing technical teams
  • Understanding of the implementation of enterprise wide software solutions
  • Extensive experience in the application of technologies
  • Understanding of development methodologies such as Waterfall, Scrum, XP, Kanban
  • Understanding of Data Migration strategies and technologies
  • Experience of working in large programmes to deliver complex commercial solutions
  • Extensive experience in creating software requirements specifications, interface specifications and data models
  • Experience of architecting for large scale, high capacity and high availability services
  • Experience in managing technical development teams, including offshore
